What is Unreciped?
Unreciped is a creative community in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. Over a four-week season, a small group of eight tries a new craft each week, like pottery, mosaic or punch needle, in independent studios around the city. Sessions are in English and all materials are included.
Why do people join Unreciped?
People join Unreciped for different reasons: to try new hobbies without committing to one, to meet people, to switch off from screens and busy weeks, to become more creative, or simply because it's effortless. We plan everything, so all you do is show up.
What kind of crafts will I try?
It changes every season. Past and current crafts include pottery, pottery painting, mosaic, punch needle, sewing, perfume making, candle making, lino printing and embroidery.
Who is Unreciped for?
Anyone who wants to make something with their hands and meet people along the way: locals and expats, complete beginners and curious hobbyists. (our seasonal cohorts are currently for women).
Do I need any creative experience?
No. Unreciped is made for beginners, and our partner studios in Rotterdam and The Hague are chosen for how well they guide people trying a craft for the first time. It's not about being good at it.
Can my company pay for this?
Often, yes. Many people in the Netherlands use their L&D, personal development or wellbeing budget (opleidingsbudget) for Unreciped. We provide a formal invoice and a template to request it.
Do I need to book each workshop or buy anything?
No. You sign up once for the season and Unreciped takes care of the rest: the crafts, the studios, the dates and the materials. That's what makes it easy to actually go.
Can I gift a season to someone?
Yes, and it makes a lovely birthday or holiday gift. We offer digital gift Invitations. You can gift a specific season or a fixed amount. Request it via email at hola@unreciped.com
I’m joining alone... is that okay?
Yes. Most people join Unreciped alone, and many leave with new friends. The group stays the same for all four weeks, so by the second workshop you'll already have people to sit with.
Who can join?
Unreciped is for locals and internationals, from complete beginners to curious hobbyists. Seasonal cohorts are currently for women; Unreciped for two (couples) and Out of office workshops are open to everyone.
How much does it cost?
A four-week Unreciped season is €185, all materials included, and you can pay in up to three instalments. One-off Out of office workshops are around €65. Seasons can also be given as a gift.
